I'm sure a lot of people in the BJD hobby remeber that not so long ago, a successful artist was found to be taking company and collectors' pictures of dolls and editing them before passing them off as her own work. In the last couple of days, another artist- one who has produced her own original work before- appears to have fallen into the same trap, and has produced a doll that is a slight modification of a doll by another company.
This blog has been put together by a number of people to document the incident, as the artist in question is putting a lot of effort into covering her tracks, rather than proving her innocence:

This whole thing makes me feel very sad, but also rather angry- both becuase talented woman who clearly can make her own unique and lovely dolls has seemingly chosen to cheat and claim someone else's hard work as hers. I see no reason why she should do this, seeing as her original dolls are fantastic (even if they are not my cup of tea), but the evidance is pretty damning, and she has yet to provide any real proof at all that the doll is not copied. Instead, she has put an aweful lot of effort into modifying the time stamps on photographs to correct inconsistancies pointed out by her critics about when the supposed progress pictures were taken. She also lied on a public forum about owning the doll she has allegedly copied, and only admitted that she had owned it (one that came with a spare head, no less) after the company she bought it from made an offical statement that they have a record of her purchasing it.
The doll (and the artist) have rightfully been banned on Den of Angels, but I feel it is important to repost this here, as there may be people on my f-list who do not frequent DoA and who might not know that this dolls is (or certainly appears to be) a copy.
Please feel free to repost this if you would like to. It is being made a public post, so anyone will be able to see it.
