Lack of Contact
Mar. 6th, 2012 05:55 pmSo, I know I haven't been posting as much as I usually do, historically speaking. There are a lot of reasons for this, but the main one is uni. I have about a metric ton of uni work to do, and I don't understand half of it. Of the half I do understand, I either don't have the resources to complete it, or it takes forever. So between doing what I can do, looking for stuff to help me with what I can't do, and trying to figure out the rest, I really don't have much time to spare. >_<;
By the end of June, I have to have finished 3 workbooks (breast feeding, work skills, and medicines management), done 2 presentations, 3 essays (2 reflections, one on communications), and had several assorted assessments. Oh, and 2 more rotations in placement...
Our tutors seem to think we will manage all this with ease, but I am not so sure. I am freaking out about it, and making sure that I am dedicating at least 50% of every day to study. I am still doing other things, of course, and trying to keep up with my hobbies.... if I didn't, I think I might actually go insane.... but even so, the pressure is mounting. A long week of sickness hasn't helped, of course.
So yeah, if I vanish for a little while now and then, that's probably why.
In Other News:
I had a fun morning being poked with needles for a blood test, followed by a short trip to a friend's to pick up the bag I left there last night. >_>; Then I went into town briefly to collect a box from the post office, and to buy the first season of 'A Game of Thrones' from HMV. I haven't seen any of the series yet, but they are my favourite fantasy books, and I have been eagerly awaiting the DVD release. I doubt it will match up to my personal image of the characters and story, but I've heard it's good. I am looking forward to getting stuck in.
The box contained a nice treat for myself- another Myth and Magic figure, this one of a wizard and a dragon sitting at a giant abacus, the beads of which are crystals that can be moved back and forth. ^__^ It's beautiful, but I was a bit perplexed when I took it out of the box, dusted it off (I dust all my new dragons- some of them are pretty dusty when they get here!) and discovered that the previous owner had liberally covered it in talcum powder. O___O I mean.... why? Were they afraid it was going to chafe in the box??
I have seen some weird stuff in boxes from e-bay, it's true.... but a talcum-powdered dragon is a new one on me. >_>;
Also, my Monster High girls arrived home from Buff, and are now sitting on the shelf with the others, looking spectacular. ^__^ I am almost out of room for ornaments and dolls, but hopefully I will be able to squeeze in a few more before I have to give up and start looking for a bigger flat. XD
