misguidance: (warpath)
So, I was on the phone to Dad earlier and it looks like my brother has struck again.  Two bits of Mum's jewellery have gone missing- a gold and amber ring, and a white gold and diamond brooch that belonged to my grandmother.   Once again there is no proof.... other than the slightly suspicious fact that they were there 2 weeks ago, and after a short visit from my brother they are now gone.

Dad is worried about confronting him because of the lack of proof, and because my brother is already being very weird about Dad's wedding.  Also, he appears to not be on great terms with his girlfriend any more (though he is still living with her and her family), and Dad is worried that he might be stealing from them, too.  I told Dad to go to the police, as I always do, but I know that he won't.  He is far more worried about losing a son than he is about losing the jewellery.

But let's face it: if my brother is not stealing this stuff, then he must seriously be the unluckiest man alive, given that things always go missing whenever he happens to be around.  And this isn't a new thing- it's been going on for as long as I remember.  Some mystery thief must be really making an effort to frame him, to keep it going this long.  Because gods forbid that he's just a cheap-ass little fucker who thinks it's OK to rip off his family, even as they continue to bail him out of trouble because he is too lazy to either work or sign on. >_<;

Seriously, I am so angry with him for upsetting Dad that I could throttle him. >_<  I would have called him up, but I no longer have his phone number, and for some strange reason he always seems very reluctant to give me his new one.
