Long shot....
May. 11th, 2012 11:27 pm I don't suppose anyone on my f-list owns a book called 'An Introduction to the Psychology of Paranormal Belief and Experience' by Tony Jinks? I really want to read it, but the local uni and public libraries don't have it in. It's not urgent, though. There's a good chance I will buy it myself at some point, if it looks like it might be relevant.
Also, do my US friends have any knowledge of a reliable institution or organisation that could point me towards statistics on alien abduction reports and survivors? As you can imagine, googling such things brings up an enormous steaming pile of crazy, and it's hard to tell the well-designed websites of fantatics from the badly designed websites of well-researched academics.
For anyone wondering why I am looking for this stuff, I am starting work on a possible research project.
Weather or not I take it further and actually, you know, do the research depends very much on what other research as been done, and how reliable it all is. Everything that I find online is either very interesting but not referenced, or very well referenced but not at all helpful. I'm hoping that I might be able to find an institution that I can approach directly that may know of good, recent research that I can follow up and read.
In Other News:
I bought a baking tray today.
I was going to make potato wedges last night as part of my new diet, but when I went to do it I learned that neither Ad nor I actually owns a baking tray, which kind of put that idea to rest. XD So after lectures today my friend Claire drove me to a big Asda outside of the city, and made me buy one. I also bought more Muller Light yoghurts, more fruit and veg, and some reduced price meat. I am still stunned at how much I can actually eat on this diet.... I know I'm only on day two, but I still feel like I am over-eating. XD
Anyway, tonight I made the wedges, and they were good. Just chopped up potato baked in a light coating of spray-on cooking oil, but they tasted really nice. I had them with a large salad, steak and mushrooms (also cooked in the spray-on oil). I could get used to this, but alas, I can't afford meat every night, even when I buy it at reduced prices. Ah well... there are plenty of other things I can try....
And maybe it is working already- my back doesn't feel as bad as it has been recently, and all day I feel really perky, like I have been on speed. O_o Now, as you all know I don't do drugs (at least, not anything not prescribed by my long-suffering doctor), so really, the only thing it can be is what I am eating. XD
