So, 2 fun things today:
1. I was sent home from work because I was feeling really unsteady on my feet. -__-; Didn't really want to leave, but got home about lunch time, had some nice, bland food.... and promptly vomited all over the place. >_<; UGH and also EW. I still feel pretty ropey, but better than I did. Absolutely no idea what caused it, to be honest.
2. I was talking to Ad after he got in at about 5, and while we were sitting there we got a surprise telephone call from our Landlord, asking if he could come in tomorrow morning and measure the flat. Apparently he's thinking of putting in a new bathroom, and maybe converting the attic into another flat (not sure how- but hey, that's his problem.)
Well, needless to say, Ad and I very rarely have the time to do housework, what with us both being on super-intensive uni courses. So since then it's been battle stations, all hands on deck.... and the result is fairly impressive. The kitchen still looks crazy untidy to me (we have a load of plastic bottles on the side, ready to be recycled), but Ad swears it's OK. I still have to clear up a load of junk piled up on the table in my room, but everything has been dusted, hoovered, and mopped. I even cleaned the bathroom, even though it didn't really need it. >_>; I know this visit isn't a proper inspection, but I'd hate for him to think we are more untidy than we actually are....
Having said that, I am slightly suspicious of this visit. Our landlord always sounds like he's really shifty anyway when he talks on the phone (I don't think he likes phones much), but all I can think is that this is going to be a hell of a lot of work, which means he'll probably want to do it without tenants in the place. He also asked what we were up to and if we are enjoying living here, to which I said yes, we love the place and we are both still at Uni for at least another year. That seemed ok to him, but.... why ask if we want to renew the lease if he's not thinking about having us out of here? And if he *does* re-do the bathroom, he may want to put the rent up.... and I don't know if we could afford that. I mean, it's pretty cheap here, but then, that's why we moved in. >__>;
So yeah, a little bit worried, to be perfectly honest.
(And I do know he legally has to give us 24hours before entering the property, but I will be in tomorrow anyway, and I don't want to piss him off. Aside from the manic cleaning spree, it doesn't actually inconvenience us to have him coming over.)
