misguidance: (air)
So.... once again, I have been too busy/lazy to update here for a while.  Sorry about that.

I don't really have all that much to say.  I have been hard at work revising for my end of year exams (which include the dreaded medicines management exam- I need to get 100% or I fail on that one)  and that has been eating most of my time.  When I haven't been doing that, I have either been slaving away on the wards, or playing Rift. >_>  I keep meaning to play more Skyrim or Kingdoms of Amalur, but Rift is easy, and that makes it the most appealing right now.  I can play that game with my eyes closed, and that's kind of what I need.

In uni news- I have hit the middle point of my course, and my community mentor has approved me to start caseloading.  It's a requirement of the course that we all take on a caseload of 2 or more women during the second and third years, but it seems to have come up awfully fast.  I know I *am* ready to do this, but I don't entirely *feel* ready, if that makes sense- but then, I never do.  Responsibility scares the balls off me, and this is about as responsible as it gets pre-qualifying.

Anyway, in preparation, I have purchased myself a cheap mobile phone and new sim card, which I can use purely for caseloading.  That way women can't bother me 24hrs a day (which has happened to other students, apparently) and I can just switch it off when I'm not on duty. ^__^.  I got a cheap Alcatel One Touch 358, which covers all the basics but does nothing fancy.  I am more than satisfied- it cost me the princely sum of £21, including a £10 top-up.

Oh, and when I've finished using it for caseloading, I can get free international minutes on it through the top-up system, so I may end up keeping it long term. ^__-.

In Other News:
I decided to treat myself this week to a new computer game- specifically, to an Ultimate Edition of Defiance.
I am pretty much not in to shooters, but this is one of those games that has just clicked with my imagination, and I am really excited to try it.  It's done by Trion Worlds, who make Rift, and that is definitely a bonus- I trust Trion, if nothing else.  Also, it's running along-side a new TV series on SyFy, which.... well... I don't get SyFy, so I will have to find other ways to see it. ^__-.  No idea if it's going to be good, but I'm mainly after the game.

Here's their awesome launch trailer, for anyone who's interested:

My Ultimate Edition should arrive on Monday.  I picked it over the normal Edition because it has some extra cool things in it, including a Messenger Bag and a Hellbug Statue, which will look cool lauding over my dragons with my Skyrim one. XD

Other than that... not sure what else to report. XD  Tomorrow Charlie and I are heading over to the Build-a-Bear factory in Southampton to get some My Little Pony plushies.... but apart from that..... yeah.  That's pretty much it.

Oh, and still no word on my operation.  Just waiting for the letter confirming the date.
