Back to work.
Feb. 4th, 2014 07:24 pm So, after a gruelling month of revision and exams, I am finally back in placement. I am spending 2 weeks working with my community mentor at Portsmouth Maternity Centre, which is my favourite place to be (and also the unit I would like to work in once I am qualified.)
It's been a busy couple of days, and I am working all week- my only day off is Thursday, and I'm even working across the weekend. Luckily for me, my driving instructor is happy to pick me up in my lunch hour on Saturday for my lesson, so at least I won't miss it.
Anyway, the main point of this is that I was talking to one of the midwives, and she asked me what my plans are after qualifying. She was really happy when I said I wanted to work at PMC, and said that the community team was really hoping I would apply, and the midwives who work there all want me to get a job there. She advised me to apply as soon as I am allowed to (which will probably be some time in May/June) and to get my application in early. This is good advice, and even though it's not exactly a job offer (since for that, I need to impress the managers rather than the midwives) it was still really nice, and made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. ^___^; Today was a good day.
