 Just had a really aggravating argument with somebody online (shock horror.)  It started out with debunking the myth that men who are uncircumcised universally have bad hygiene, via the medium of actual scientific research.  It then progressed to 'but I knew a guy with a cheesy knob so I must be right and you're mean for saying I'm wrong boo hoo don't be meeeeeaaaan!'  It finally ended with her insisting that we (by which I mean, anybody in the Western world) should never speak out against practices such as female genital mutilation, because apparently standing up for human rights is Imperialism, and we should just keep quiet and let other cultures work out for themselves what's acceptable and what isn't.  Even though most countries where such things are practised acknowledge that it needs to be stopped, and have invited the help of international agencies such as the WHO in stamping it out. 

So, in summary: after being challenged on a popular myth about foreskins, this person would rather advocate the mutilation and torture of young women and girls than admit that maybe- just maybe- she is not the fountain of all knowledge when it comes to the topic of circumcision in either gender.  Oh, and people who actually look up research and know their shit (which I have to do, given that I help women give birth through their mutilated genitalia on occasion) are all imperialist assholes meddling in the affairs of the kind and gentle natives of other lands. 



I fucking hate the internet sometimes. 


Anyway, I blocked her, because I was getting ready to punch her in the face through my modem and that never works.
