Back to work. ^__^.
Feb. 8th, 2012 08:25 pm So, since Monday I have been back at my placement, and loving it. ^__^ Today was clinic day, so I have spoken to lots of lovely pregnant ladies (and a few slightly bewildered partners/husbands), and my mentor let me do a lot of the work. I love it. I'm sure I'll have bad days, but so far every day I go in just confirms how much I love this role.
Tomorrow I am going up to the hospital to help one of the midwives with a mentorship assessment, and then I will spend the afternoon asleep in preparation for a night shift labour call. They are always the best, really- I don't know why, but daytime labour calls aren't nearly as much fun.
In Other News:
Well, less good news is the fact that my last passablesports bra compression vest is on it's last legs, and I don't know if it will make it to the summer. I have another one, but it is bright red and stains everything pink, so I can't wear it under my shiny white uniform. My black one goes under a grey vest and looks fine, but it is stretching out and soon it will be useless at compressing all the stuff underneath. -__-; I have tried 3 or 4 others over the last few months, but I still can't find a new one that does the job properly. It is really upsetting me now, because if this one goes before I have surgery, I actually won't be able to bind at all.
I am seriously considering biting the bullet and shelling out for a new Underworks binder (specifically, the tri-top one, because it is shorter than the others). I don't like them because they are too long in the front, and I can't really bend in them, but I don't think I have much of a choice any more. They are annoyingly expensive, too, and the shipping times are not too great. Also, I have heard some bad things about Underworks and shipping times, which is worrying me....
Ugh.
I know I don't post here much about the tran (to use a friend's phrase) anymore, but seriously: if they told me I could have chest surgery tomorrow, I would be in there so fast that wild roadrunners couldn't catch me. >_>;
