Kingdoms of Amalur: an update.
Feb. 19th, 2012 09:38 pm I have now played approximately 23 hours of this game, and all of them have been awesome. The combat system is lovely, and the story is very engaging. I have barely started the main story arc, but I have finished one of the faction story arcs, and it was excellent! I won't go into details, but this game really does carry itself well. ^__^
I do come bearing pictures, though, because the real joy of this game is the world it is set in. Every corner I turn around has a little glimpse of something beautiful (even if it turns out to be something that then tries to eat me), and sometimes I find myself stopping on a ledge or in a cave, just to look around. Actually, some of the caves have amazing surrounds- massive caverns and underground lakes, and hidden city ruins that look outstanding. It's like peering into a perfect dream world, and I'm hardly out of the 'starting' areas!
Unfortunately, caves don't show up well in screen-shots, but I've collected a few other nice bits to show off.
But first: A Pile of Bears.

( Pictures, pictures, pictures! )
