misguidance: (love)
So, this morning I got up very early indeed (well- early for a day off!)  and jumped into a friend's car to take a trip to a carboot sale.  As you guys well know, I love carboot sales- but unfortunately our local one closed down at the end of the season this year, and didn't start up again. -___-;  So we have been forced to travel further afield, to the one just outside of Southampton.  On the plus side, this one is a lot bigger (at least in good weather) and it runs all year around.

Anyway, it was a scorchingly hot day (I got sun burn just thinking about going outside!), and the turn-out was HUGE.  I have never seen so many stalls outside of the big antiques sales in London.  XD  And we just about made it around them all.  We had to stop half way through for a cold can of cola and an ice-cream, because otherwise we would have died of heatstroke, but it was well worth it.  My friend picked up a cheap usb keyboard and a new car adaptor for her phone, and for about the same amount she spent, I picked up a massive armload of plushies.

I got a large stuffed toy of Dragon from the 'Shrek' movies, a truly giant stuffed dragon (whom I have named Bosco, though I'm not sure why...) and a build-a-bear velociraptor, wearing hospital scrubs and carrying a baby velociraptor.  I have named him Dr Carnivore Bravado, as 'dr c bravado' is the acronym midwives use for reading CTGs of fetal heart-rates. ^__-.  It suits him.

Anyway.... here are a couple of quick snaps:

I'm not sure how dinosaur midwives would work.  Would they supervise egg turning?  Monitor nest temperature?  Would it be considered an intervention to crack open an egg shell to help the neonate to get out?

Giant dragon under the cut! )

Anyway, in total (including the can of cola) I spent about £7!  Dr Carnivore was only £3, which isn't bad- I know how much build-a-bear plushies can cost, so I got a real steal on him.... and he was pretty much tailor made for me! XD

The only down-side of today, really, was that I was a complete glutton and ate a ton of stuff that isn't great for me- a full roast lunch with a sundae for pudding, and pizza for dinner. >_>;  I am not proud of it... but hey ho, these things happen, and I will just jump back on the wagon in the morning and hope I haven't done too much damage to my diet! ^__-.

In Other News:
I'll be spending the next couple of days revising my medicines management stuff.  >_>; It's not going to be thrilling stuff, but it has to be done and I am anxious to do well.  Also, Dad and Liz are back from their honeymoon on Wednesday, and I am hoping they will stop by and see me before they head back home.
