Car Bumped.

So, today I got hit by a car.
Well- it was more like a forceful bump, actually, and I'm not hurt at all (thank gods!), but still... a car hit me, which was definitely not something I was planning for today. I am actually really angry about it, too- I was on a zebra crossing, and this guy pulled up, slowed right down, and then just didn't stop. He rolled across the crossing at about 3mph, bumped into my side and knocked me onto my ass. Initially he claimed he didn't see me, which is bullshit because he was looking at me as he approached, and then when the police arrived he claimed he misjudged the distance between his car and the crossing, and claimed he was just 'a few feet' over it. Which even if it was true, isn't actually any excuse for hitting a pedestrian who is correctly using a pedestrian crossing. >_<;
I'd like to say again, just to reassure people, that I am absolutely fine. At worst, I will have a bruise where I sat down heavily, and if I get bruises on my side it will be because of the blood thinners, rather than any actual damage. The security guard at Tescos (which is right next to the crossing) called the police and stopped the driver leaving, and the policeman who spoke to me gave me his card and told me to call up if I do develop any problems. I also know that the driver was given an on-the-spot fine, and also points on his license. And actually, listening in to him whinging to the police, it sounds like he either already has points on his license, or he has only just got his license back from some past incident. Either way, it was clear he has driven badly before, and he probably will again. >_>; I really hope the next person he hits is as lucky as I am, and is also OK.
In Other News:
Other than that, the day has been unexceptional. It is very cold at the moment, but no snow yet (just some morning frost, but the wind here is full of sea salt so it melts really fast), and I had a haircut today so my ears are feeling the chill more than usual.
This evening a friend came over and we played D&D for a while, which was fun. I'm going into Southampton with her tomorrow to wander about and do some window shopping, which should be nice. On Monday I am back on placement, so tomorrow is my last day of fun before I have to knuckle down again.
