I am sick.
Last night's shift went really well- couldn't have been better, in fact- and I got home at about 8:30am and went to bed. I was due to be in tonight, and then tomorrow night too.... but at lunchtime I woke up feeling a bit crappy. I went to get a drink and ended up vomiting copiously. I didn't even get to the bathroom in time, which is very unusual for me. I like to be very careful when I'm being sick, but this time my body was just 'lol nope!' and I had no chance. -__-;
So, the long and the short of it is this: because I have been vomiting I am not allowed to be on shift for a minimum of 48 hours, just in case I have something serious. I got an emergency appointment at the Dr, because I was worried this might be related to them cutting down the medication I am taking for the blood clot, and he said it was a 'nasty virus', which basically confirmed that I can't be in work. So I will miss my next two shifts, which are my last shifts in the hospital before doing 2 weeks out in community again. I am gutted- I love night shifts at the hospital, and I was hoping to get my current mentor to sign me off on stuff tonight. ;__; Now I don't know when that will happen, which sucks.
Mind you, you can't blame the NHS for being careful with vomiting symptoms- at the moment there have been massive ward closures in Southampton (not far from here) because of a bug that is going around, so I really hope I don't have that one, and that I didn't either catch it from someone at work, or accidentally give it to anyone. That would be truly terrible.
Right now I am sitting at my desk wearing my PJs under tracksuit bottoms, 2 hoddies, gloves, slippers and a had.... and I am still cold. Amazingly, I didn't even realise that I had a fever until the doctor told me- I just assumed that my flat was fucking cold. <_>;
